Do you think there could be some logic in rejecting technology and seeking the primitive with a deity?

mainly to Atheists, not rejecting knowledge and wisdom, i mean more like getting back to basics and simple living in harmony .. i have started to have doubts that humans can benefit themselves or any life or the ecology of the planet by pushing technology and science first and it seems to me mainly technological and scientific advancements are used for 3 things - exploiting resources to gain wealth, build formidable weapons, and control populations to consolidate the power of those few with the wealth .. just some ideas ive been tossing around .. what are your thoughts ... couldnt a God find a place in an ideal human existence or is science really the answer?
