Can I change my godfather?

I absolutely hate my godfather. Every time i talk to my uncle who is my godfather i get the urge to beat the **** out of him i cant stand him. Ive become very close with my cousin is a lot older than me and i think he would be very appreciative if he was my godfather. I want to make my cousin my godfather is their anyway i can fire my uncle and make my cousin my godfather. I just need to know the legality of it or the process of it i have no problem telling my uncle im letting you go.
