og tvs will become obsolete next year. what do you guys think?

Well, their days are numbered, anyway. They will still have a life if connected to a converter box, VCR, DVD player, satellite or cable. One shouldn't be pressured into throwing them out unless they are defective or the user wants to upgrade with full knowledge of his choices.
