Do you think i should have more more of an effort with him?

i went out on a date wih a guy i liked.things went well since then we have been texting each other a lot.we haven't arranged to do anything today but when i got home at 7 today he text asked if i wanted to go down his i said its pointless coz i've got to go down my sisters then lock the club up at 11. he replied its supposed to be your day off,and you can be bothered so just leave it there.like you said pointless. i replied i did want to see you but i ment pointless coz of the time but if you want to leave it there fair enough.... do you think i should have made more of an effort.i do like him and im gutted. what would you do?
