How can I attach a platform to a tree so my cat can jump to it to evade the dog, while not hurting the tree?

My cat is getting older and can't jump high enough to reach the branches, and climbing the tree isn't fast enough for her, I guess. I want to use straps but no matter how tight they are, it seems like the platform will be unstable. I need a simple way to keep it from wobbling. Thanks!
